How to join DVCC

Before you part with any cash, why not join us on a club ride to see if we are right for you? You are welcome to come on two club rides before deciding whether to join the club.

After two rides you need to officially join the club to continue riding with us. This is a British Cycling rule to ensure the club is insured. See the Club rides section for more information on the rides and the DVCC Club Rules.

Once you’ve decided to join, fill in the Application Form and email it to derwentvalleycycling@gmail.com. We accept cheque or BACS transfer (Derwent Valley Cycling Club sort code: 30-91-66 Account no. 00771709).

WHY JOIN US?

  • Motivation – Commitment to a date and time every week is motivation to ensure that you get out of the door – come rain or shine!
  • Discover new routes – Collectively, the club members know all the roads in the area and will probably take you to places you’ve never explored before.
  • Racing – Being a member allows you to ride time trials and criterium races.
  • Fitness – Riding with us pushes you to go further and faster and build your skills & fitness.
  • The social side – We’re a friendly group and DVCC has a great social element with social rides, pub nights and weekends away.
  • Safety in numbers – Riding with a group will improve your visibility on the road and mean there is someone to help if you run into any issues.
  • Kit – You will be able to buy what has to be the coolest club kit in the UK, made by Bioracer (as used by many European National cycling squads).
  • Insurance – Members of the club are covered by Organisers Liability insurance. That covers event organisers, ride leaders and anyone acting on behalf of the group on rides if something goes wrong to a participant or member of the public. All individual participants are strongly advised to get their own cycling insurance cover.  Being a member of the club does not provide individual third party (public) liability insurance.
