A few of the Derwent Valley Cycling Club women have been in action in circuit races at the new criterium circuit in Carlisle. Its been an exciting start to the women’s racing scene at Carlisle.
Helene Williamson, Niamh Nelson and Caitlin Pearson had their first ever go at crit racing here.
Femke van Schelven couldn’t resist the new circuit and came out of retirement after a 10 year break.

Strong rides were had by all, along with lots of experience of bunch racing, cornering at speed, and high intensity work. But most importantly, lots of fun had by all!
Its been a great experience so far in the series and we are really looking forward to taking part in future criteriums.
